| The I-15 carpool lane now goes from 600 North in Salt Lake City to the University Avnenue Exit in Utah County.
If you want to take advantage of the carpool lanes on I-15, there are some great perks, but there are also some
rules to follow.
Carpool lanes are restricted to vehichles carrying two or more people, busses or other commercial vehicles,
motorcycles or emergency vehicles. A single rider has the option of
buying a pass to ride in that lane.
UDOT's website has an area where you can find a carpool buddy so you can take advantage of the perks and also help
the environment at the same time.
If you carpool, you can:
- Save money on gas (split the cost between two or more riders.)
- Save miles on your car (you only drive half --or so-- of the time.)
- Reduce congestion on the roadways.
- Save time getting to work (because you can use the carpool lanes!)
