A Replica of the real thing comes to Utah

There are several different groups who have developed a Travelling Memorial, or Moving Wall. The one that regularly visits Salt Lake is called the "Vietnam Wall Expereince".

Hosted by Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park South Valley (13001 South 3600 West), this scaled-down replica of the real thing (3/4 size) travels the country giving a chance for viewing to those who can not make it to Washington. It made a stop in Salt Lake in July this year.

All of the 58,000+ names of men and women who died in the Vietnam War are etched into the polished stone. Paper, pencils and chalk are available for those who would like to take an imprint of the name of their loved-one.

Ceremonies are scheduled as well as several displays and exhibits of memorabilia from the war. Vietnam veterans are also on hand to answer questions and share stories.
