An Easy Hike in Alta
  • Length: About a mile to Cardiff Pass
  • Elevation Gain: 1360 ft
  • Trailhead: Across the road from the Albion Restaurant at Alta Ski Resort

Alta to the Mine The trail head is just across the road from Alta Ski Resort's Albion lift access area (8.2 miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon).

In the summer time, there is little traffic here and parking will be wide open. The trail follows a road for awhile (going through provate property, so please stay on the road) and then heads up the hillside.

If you are not up for the full trek to the pass, and/or if you have little ones with you as we did this day, just wander around as far as you want to go.

There are remains of mining activity, so be careful.

The views to the south at the ski resort are awesome.
