Required Accessories:
The electronics of this machine are powered by three options:
- Design-A-Knit (DAK) charting software which runs on your own computer. If you go with this option, you will also need:
- PC10: a new patterning device for the electronic knitting machines that makes the use of a computer unnecessary, this unit connects directly to your knitting machine using the curl cord to transfer the information to the machine as you knit. You can use quick keys to reverse, mirror image, double length and double width the design. The PC10 can be removed from the machine to program the patterns and then returned to the machine to knit your garments. You can save patterns to a memory card and share your designs with your knitting buddies. It comes with a cable, but you will need the Curl Cord.
- DAK Concept :a standalone "computer" running a cut-down version of DAK. This option is a little less expensive (and does not require that you already have a computer) but it is very limited. If you want to do basic shapes, this could work for you. If you want to do advanced shapes (asymetrical sweaters, hats, dog sweaters, etc.) then you should really go with one of the other two options. It comes with a cable, but you will need the Curl Cord.
